Sisters is a center that supports survivors of rape, sexual coercion, harassment and other forms of sexualized violence, no matter who they are or what the circumstances were. The name comes from the idea of a sister: someone close who listens, understands and stays on your side. We redesigned the identity to make that feeling visible.

The concept

The concept is a safe space. Soft colors, rounded corners, gradients and abstract shapes build an environment where a person can open up and ask for help. We deliberately avoided dark colors: even in the hardest situations there is room for hope and light.

The logo

The new logo is two guiding stars that light the way and hold each other up. The pair exists in the night sky: the double star system Mizar and Alcor, which the ancient Greeks read as Electra, the lost Pleiad. The mark stands for the invisible but strong bond between those who need help and those who offer it.

Color and photography

The palette runs from dusty pink to sky blue and is meant to create a sense of safety and trust. Gradients and blur in photography carry the center's two core values, confidentiality and care, and protect the anonymity of the people in the pictures.

Type

A confident grotesque with rounded corners and tight letter spacing, designed by David Jonathan Ross and Jovana Jokić. It holds the balance the identity needs: soft in shape, firm in voice.
